Mechanical Stabilization Plant (Plant Mix)

Plentmix is a layer with a maximum size of 38 mm, formed by laying and compacting the material prepared by mixing at least three different grain size groups in one or more layers in accordance with the project, coarse and fine, in a plant with an appropriate ratio of water within certain gradation limits, using crushed stone and thin material. The fact that the existing soils do not have sufficient bearing capacity makes it compulsory to reinforce them. Otherwise, it is inevitable that the hot mix asphalt to be applied on it will be exposed to settlements, fractures and collapses depending on the underlying ground. Plantmix material should be used – prior to asphalt application – for both soil reinforcement and removal of corrugations on the existing surface. The plantmix layer should be prepared in accordance with the BSK laying on the sub-base layer and should be strong in terms of compaction.
