Der Stapellauf eines Schiffes ist immer etwas Besonderes. Umso mehr natürlich dann, wenn es sich um ein solch extravagantes Schiff wie die Emerlad Azzurra handelt. Im März dieses Jahres gewann NORIS Automation Far East den Auftrag für das Motorsteuerungs- und Überwachungssystem des Schiffes. Als erste von vier Superyachten lief die 110 Meter lange Yacht nun kürzlich vom Stapel und nimmt demnächst ihre Arbeit im Mittelmehr auf. Die Yacht sieht nicht nur modern und sportlich aus, sie zielt auch auf ein jüngeres, aktiveres Publikum für Kreuzfahrten ab. Da bekommt man glatt Lust auf eine Kreuzfahrt oder? The launching of a ship is always special. All the more so, when it is such an extravagant ship as the Emerald Azzurra. In March this year, NORIS Automation Far East won the order and convinced with its N3500 engine control and monitoring system for the ship. As the first of four super yachts, the 110-meter long yacht has now recently been launched and will soon start its work in the Mediterranean Sea. Not only does the yacht look modern and sporty, but also targets a younger, more active crowd for cruising at an affordable price. It makes you want to go on a cruise, doesn't it? Ab dem 1. Januar 2020 dürfen Schiffe weltweit nur noch Treibstoff mit einem Schwefelgehalt von maximal 0,5% verwenden. Alternativ können die Abgase gereinigt werden, wodurch die gleichen Schwefeloxid-Konzentrationen wie bei Verwendung von schwefelreduziertem Treibstoff erreicht werden. Fest steht, Reedereien müssen schnell handeln. Da die Verwendung von schwefelarmen Marine-Diesel teuer und die Umrüstung auf Flüssigerdgas (LNG) sehr aufwendig ist, kristallisieren sich Abgaswaschanlag für viele Schiffseigner als einfachste und wirtschaftlichste Methode heraus. From 1 January 2020, ships worldwide will only be allowed to use fuel with a maximum sulphur content of 0.5%. Alternatively, the exhaust gases can be purified to achieve the same sulphur oxide concentrations as when using sulphur-reduced fuel. Shipping companies must act quickly in order to comply with the new regulations. Since the use of low-sulphur marine diesel is expensive and the conversion to liquefied natural gas (LNG) is complicated, the installation of an exhaust gas scrubber has turned out to be the simplest and most economically viable method for many ship owners.
