INVEST IN ANATOLIA

One of the most important commercial varieties on the world market. This is the most widely planted walnut variety because of its late flowering, lateral bearing, and the lightness of its kernel. It developed in 1979 at the University of California at Davis. It is a hybrid of Pedro x UC 5-224. It leaves out 18 days after Payne, flowering in the mid-late period.

A hybrid of Franquette x Lara. Late leafing, lateral fruit bearing variety. Leaves are out 2-3 days earlier than Franquette. Used as a pollinator for Chandler and Fernor.

It is a hybrid of Pedro x UC 5-224 like Chandler. Leaves are out mid-season (15 days after Payne). Lateral bearing (80-90% of lateral buds are female). It grows smaller than the other varieties. A good pruning program is required to harvest standard yield and fruit size. Suitable for hedgerow systems.

A commercial standard Paradox rootstock, (J.hindsii x J.regia). First clonal rootstock for walnut orchards. The Vlach has proven to be vigorous in orchard test plots throughout the state. It has shown good tolerance to many root infections that commonly plague traditional seedlings, including crown gall.

A variety developed by the University of California. A hybrid of Serr x Tehama. Leaves are out 12 days after Payne. Laterals bear fruit in the proportion of 70-80%; light-colored kernels proportion is 80-90%. Trees are medium strong vertical development. Especially well-suited to hedgerow systems.

A French variety developed in the 1980s. Early fruiting, lateral bearing variety. Because the tree structure is moderately strong, its canopy is small. Suitable for hedgerow planting. The color of the kernel varies from white to amber, depending on the region in which its grown.

Traditional French variety. An important variety especially because it is a pollinator for Chandler. Trees grow strong and vertical. Leafing date is 26-27 days after Payne.

A very good pollinator for Chandler, Howard, Lara, and Fernor varieties. Its origin is Patagonia. Very late bloom, 3 days before Franquette, and the long male flowering period around 23-25 days.

An advanced selection of paradox hybrid (Juglans hindsii x Juglans regia). The VX211 has high vigor and moderate resistance to phytophthora.
